Review of LA Statutory Duties
A review which, presumably, is looking at reducing them but it might be worth pushing advice into the process.
Sorry, I missed this.
I agree very much, there’s never been a better time to be doing some lobbying for statutory provision of social welfare advice services.
Thanks Gareth.
Just used their webform to submit a request that a stautory duty be placed upon local authorities to ensure adequate provision of social welfare law advice in their borough (welfare beneifts, debt/money, housing, employment, education and immigration).
Argued that LSC approach is top-down, expensive and burdensome and doesn’t deliver to local needs and this approach would give councils flexibility to plan and provide according to local demographic and needs.
Took about 5 minutes tops, so I would encourage others to make similar representations.
