DWP guidance on allowing electronic claims for state pension credit in response to coronavirus outbreak

New DMG Memo issued

New guidance has been issued in relation to electronic claims for state pension credit in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

In DMG Memo 10/20, the DWP provides guidance on a change to claims for state pension credit introduced by the State Pension Credit (Coronavirus) (Electronic Claims) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 (SI.No.456/2020) that came into effect on 4 May 2020, advising that -

‘The change means that a claim for state pension credit may be made electronically. This means that the guidance in DMG Volume 1, Annex B will also apply to state pension credit.’
