JSA(C) overlaps with Widowed Parents Allowance

Clt receives WPA. About to be made redundant. Considering JSA(C) claim to protect contribution record and (!) access assistance with return to work.
She won’t get JSA as WPA exceeds - but will these days count towards the 182 days JSA(C) that are payable?
Reason I ask is that WPA expected to stop in summer when son leaves college so she doesn’t want to have signed on for 6 months to find that she’s used up her JSA(C) entitlement.
