Appointee and Evidence of Identity Interview

Has anyone come across this before? Corporate appointee just appointed for client who was in foster care and is at the age where it is changing to a Shared Lives placement. Client is already in receipt of benefits. The appointee got the attached letter and was told to attend the interview (not even at a local Jobcentre) or they would stop all the client’s benefits. Our appointee team have never had a similar request/demand before.

I can read every word of the redactions. You may want to pull it and redo.

but not evidence of your team’s appointment .....

bizarre, in the context particularly of a corporate appointee.

presumably the client already has a NINO otherwise there wouldn’t be any benefits in payment.

presumably also your authority already has all the relevant info for the client.

but presumably also, your authority is also stuck with having to maintain client confidentiality in relation to the client DPA and all that….

what does your legal department say about that conundrum?
