An interesting take in this article from Community Care, on how new obligations to assess and provide care services under he Care Act 2014 will increase risks of legal challenge against local authorities.

Yogi Amin, partner and national head of public law at Irwin Mitchell identifies several risk areas including obligations to - effectively consult with service users about cuts, provide adequate payment rates for carers and ensure services are in place to reduce the need for care and support.
