I can’t help but wonder if this presents the Welly Rights version of the perfect storm. Pretty much every ESA claimant is going to ring JCP; staff on the helplines are at a minimum; hold times appear to be in excess of 15 minutes (my new give up threshold) and all just at the time when everyone is bracing themselves for the festive crisis client that seems to emerge most years with no money and 24 hours to sort it out.

And they are using voice recognition instead of the “press 1 for JSA, 2 for ESA,” etc
