Hi,

I’m posting the following on behalf of Phil Reynolds of Parkinson’s UK -

I’m one of the Co-Chairs of the Disability Benefits Consortium of 60 charities and organisations -

We’ve been invited to give evidence in Parliament in the coming weeks. We’re going to argue that delays and inaccurate Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) and Personal Independence Payment benefit decisions are having a significant impact on the health of people with long-term conditions and disabilities.

However, I wondered what ESA waiting times are like currently and if you had any recent anonymous examples of people that had experienced delays in getting assessments for Employment and Support Allowance? I also wondered if there were any examples of Mandatory Reconsideration decisions that took longer than the 14 day guideline?
