Does anyone know for certain when this will begin?

All DWP references that I can find simply say October 2015.

That is only ‘natural re-assessments’ i.e. fixed term awards, children turning 16, self selectors

I was hoping we might have a fixed date that they will start the randomly selected re-assessments of longer term and indefinite awards.

here’s the rightsnet story -

http://www.rightsnet.org.uk/welfare-rights/news/item/dwp-confirms-further-details-of-personal-independence-payment-roll-out

and here’s the timetable for PIP replacing DLA -

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/timetable-for-pip-replacing-dla

sets out reassessment areas up to July 2015 and says -

‘From October 2015
All the remaining claimants in receipt of a DLA award will be invited to make a claim for PIP. DWP will randomly select DLA claimants in receipt of an indefinite award or a fixed term award, and notify them about what they need to do to claim PIP. DWP will invite claims as early as possible from recipients who have turned 65 after 8 April 2013, when PIP was first introduced.

By late 2017
All existing DLA claimants (aged 16 to 64 on 8 April 2013) will have been invited to claim PIP.’
