Client claimed PIP in May 2014.  Letter received very quickly that it had been referred to Atos.  Then nothing.  We eventually asked MP to chase.  Atos said they had sent it back to DWP late October 2014 saying no face to face assessment was needed.

Has anyone any experience - or would anyone like to hazard a guess - as to how long it will take DWP to issue a decision?  Also, has anyone any knowledge of whether DWP ever decide that the claimant is not entitled to PIP in cases where no assessment interview is deemed necessary by Atos?

We’re in a Capita area but as it’s back in DWP’s court I’d say my advice would stand.

They set a 4 week case control and in my experience it’s usually 4 to 6 weeks to decision once the assessment’s returned to DWP.

Many thanks - about time to get the MP to chase again then.
