79 per cent of DLA reassessments lead to PIP award
So, on target to cut 20% off the budget then as they hoped!!!
Is anyone aware of any reports or responses to the call for evidence which have come from organisations in areas in which DLA>PIP reassessments have already begun?
edit: bit off topic sorry about that but not in one of these areas myself and would be interested in hearing how it is going.

The impression I’m getting of PIP is that the Government may be shedding the low care (cooking test) cases from the old DLA load, but many more new PIP claims are receiving an award which would not have been successful under DLA rules. So I doubt if there will be much difference in the cost to the taxpayer.

To me, that is exactly what’s going on. Sadly it’s not hard to see that once the delays are sorted the cost of PIP will start to rise and claimants will be subject to the sort of irrational stripping back of eligible activities that has further afflicted ESA.
Yes, and PIP will eventually have its own Benefit Integrity Programme.

Not a dig at you but… is it just me? Using a word like “integrity” in the context of benefits nowadays feels almost obscene and inappropriate. We seem to occupy a whole different world.
Indeed. Its subsequent re-incarnation was the Right Payment Programme. Any guesses as to its next re-incarnation?

All the people with fragile mental health who, for the most part, function well will lose out, as will a lot of epileptic people. It’s not the low rate care group that will lose out; it’s the mid/high due to supervision needs that will go. We are very worried for the mental health caseload…
