I think I asked the same question before, a few years back, but cannot find it anymore, or remember the answer.
Client’s Med 3 certificate has the box ticked where it says ‘you may be fit for work taking account of the following advice:’  (which is altered hours of up to a maximum of 16 per week).

Is this any good for ESA claim?  I looked at reg 30 and Med Evidence regulations, and if I understand the regs correctly, the client’s sick note does seem to satisfy the requirements, as it is a statement given by a doctor in acc. with the rules set out in Part 1 of the Schedule to the Med Evidence regs.

Yes it is - that bit on fit note only gives indication of arrangements that may be made - it is a certificate to indicate ‘limited capability’
