Changing from DLA to PIPs

Is it possible to drop an existing DLA claim and just make a PIPS claim instead?

My client is unlikley to get the DLA HR Mob on the SMI/dangerous behavior/physical restraint critria but seems more likely to get 12 points for Activity 1 (F) of PIPs

. There has not, as far as I know, been any change in his condition and as his DLA is indefinite he isn’t likely to be invited to claim PIPs until late 2015 at the earliest.

Your claimant is a ‘self-selector’ under Reg 4 of the PIP Transitional Regs, so he can do so.
