I propose a championship for ‘Silliest Suggestion Made At A Work-Focused Interview’

A starter entry: “Can’t you buy and sell stuff on E-Bay?”

I cant compete. I will say that the pursuit of work, as an end in itself, without thought to the quality of contract, and pay/earnings is having a imact on homelessness.

One recent example is a tenant with children who was advised to declare variable Avon catalogue work….

A few mothes down the line, multiple HB enquiries…..loss of home.

This problem is we have a strategy, getting people into work and making work pay, when in some cases it still doesnt, becasue the quality of job is still not there.

Had a client advised to set up in self-employment taking in laundry. Presumably JCP assume ownership of washing machines is a rarity among the claiming classes!

Hope the client who was asked to take in laundry is not a tenant -  or else they might end up losing their tenancy for running a business from home

My client was advised to write to the local authority to become a toilet attendant (she has bladder incontinence). I wrote to JCP to state if they know of any local authority that still has public toilets, let alone toilet attendants in situ, please let us know, as I do home visits and no of NONE in London anymore.

Why am I suddenly thinking of Charles Hawtrey in ’ Carry On Screaming’?????
I think this takes first place so far, as the suggestion is not only silly but actually impossible.
