ESA tribunal won, DWP request written reasons

In 13 years I have only had DWP request written reasons for a successful tribunal once.
However, following my last 2 ESA appeals (both won obviously) the DWP have requested written reasons.
This suspends any backdating and forward going increase?

Anyone else finding this?

We have had 2 in the last 2 months.  Both on points.  The tribunal is markedly quicker at producing the SOR than if the appellant asks for it having lost ...

Gosh, I’m challenged on an annual basis at least once and often more. What that says about me I’d rather not think about… 😊

I’ve not seen it

Maybe a compliment in disguise with the DWP trying to find out your advocacy strategies at tribunal hearings.

More a case of a mix of incompetent arrogance i.e. utter disbelief and incomprehension at the decision, usually sorted when they follow up with an application for leave to appeal. Leave always allowed but appeal almost always dismissed…

... and, sometimes, to be fair, they have had a point and they’ve certainly won a few at UT over the years.

We’ve seen this a few times here (in Liverpool) for ESA appeals recently and I assumed it was related to the pilot sceme in this area with a high proportion of ESA appeals having a PO.  However, I note Nevip hasn’t come across it so I’m startinig to doubt my reasoning.
