Discretionary Housing Payments - some councils have unspent funds so apply now

A number of councils have not fully spent their allocation and both new claims and claims that were refused earlier, could be successful.

Some councils may have stated their DHP criteria on their website, so it may be worth checking that first and explaining willingness to move or get job etc.

Those over pension age may be outside the criteria and may find it easier to claim.

Claims for 2013/2014 allocation may need to be received by the council within the next few days.
