Just a quickie. A client of mine lives with 2 other people, he gets ESA and MRC DLA.

They are moving away for 3 months leaving him on his own.

Can anyone see a reason why the SDP wont apply for the time they are away?

No CA in place.

The only fly in the ointment is that the 2 people are getting benefits at the address and im not sure they are reporting moving out for that period. They are going to Hawaii to visit family!

The client has MH issues and i dont want an SDP overpayment to occur

Thanks and merry Christmas!

SDP uses the same wording as Council Tax IIRC, I think it’s “normally resident” if it’s a three month trip to Hawaii I don’t think they’ll stop being normally resident with him.

No harm in trying though so long as JCP know it’s temporary.

Happy Christmas
