Report’s findings include that -

at least 11 food banks have opened in NI in the last 12 months;

Trussell Trust food banks in Northern Ireland fed 1,538 people in the period April – June 2013; and

the reasons why people needed help from food banks included unemployment, benefit cuts and delays; indebtedness, illness and disability; an inability to budget and manage money.

After watching the disgraceful behavior Esther McVey and IDS in the debate on Food Poverty in The Commons last Wednesday, when they left after only one hour, I have started a petition asking them to publish a report regarding Food Poverty, that they have been sitting on since June.

I for one would like to see this report that has take so long to make “an appropriate review and quality assurance process.”—[Official Report, House of Lords, 26 November 2013; Vol. 749, c. 1293.]”
