Reduced Earnings Allowance Restarting

New one on me - have a query about a client who was on REA but this stopped when he was promoted at work so (as I understand the query) his earnings exceeded what they had been under his regular occupation.

But now he has lost his job and is thinking of claimaing JSA.

The query is: can he restart his REA now (as has no earnings). Getting conflicting views from the person making the query and I cant seem to find an answer in CPAG.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

If you’ve had REA since before 1/10/1990 and you lose it for more than one day then you lose it for good in respect of that accident, otherwise for awards after that date I can’t find anything to say you can’t make a renewal claim.
