Been copied in to the attached DWP response to a recent FOI request relating to levels of median earnings ....
The FOI request asked for more detail re figures in the August 2013 publication Median weekly earnings and total incomes of benefit units 2011 to 2012 that the DWP produced ‘in response to a growing demand for estimates of average weekly earnings used for the government’s considerations of the level of the benefit cap’.
Is ‘interesting’ that whilst the benefit cap for couples and lone parents is set at £500, the FOI response confirms that the average median earnings for couples, couples with children, and lone parents was actually £560 in 2011/12 .....
