Hi Guys,

This may be a silly question….

I have a cl who is receiving CB ESA.  He has recently been put in the SG following an appeal.  As a result of this is now entitled to EDP, which gives him an entitlement to IR ESA.

Does anyone know if the cl has to make a claim for IR ESA, or should the DWP automatically pay IR ESA on top of his CB ESA?

Normally it has to be claimed using an ESA3 form. If already on IRESA they seem to pay it (EDP) automatically a lot of the time, however a separate IR claim must be made if a CBESA already in place.

Thank you :)
