Which DWP office(s) calculate the benefit cap?

I understand that it is the DWP’s responsibility to calculate the benefit cap, even if, initially, it is left to Local Authorities to implement.  Does anybody know which DWP office(s) are doing this, i.e. is it just one central office, regional offices, or more local ones?

I just wanted to know this as it would be useful to have a direct contact to such office(s) to point out any inaccuracies in the income details used and also to inform them rapidly of any changes which might affect the cap (such as someone getting DLA or being placed in the support group).

The cap is calculated by BCCT (benefit cap calculation team) in Belfast.

See : http://www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/a15-2013.pdf

I believe there is a BCCT email address but I don’t think it’s public domain - I suspect they’ll want corrections/queries/complaints to go via your HB dept.

One of our tenants was given this number;
