Help with Housing costs and Buildings Insurance
I have a client who owns her own flat in an apartment block. She claims Income-related ESA. One of the payments she has to make (in addition to service charges and ground rent) is Buildings Insurance. It is a condition of the tenancy. I can’t find any clear direction in the Regulations as to whether this is covered as “other housing costs” Anyone know the answer? Thanks Ruth
Just found the answer to my query. Yes if it is a condition of occupying the property R(IS) 4/92
