interesting one…

A wave of mass appeals against bedroom tax decisions risks leaving people in limbo due to tribunal delays, law centres have warned.

The Law Centres Network which represents more than 50 law centres across England, Wales and Northern Ireland has become the latest organisation to warn against people appealing en masse.

The LCN’s intervention is a blow to campaign groups that are urging 660,000 affected tenants to appeal against the bedroom tax, which reduces housing benefit for working-age social tenants in England, Scotland and Wales if they have one or more spare bedrooms.

Campaigners believe mass appeals will make the bedroom tax unworkable due to the extra administrative burden and cost to the taxpayer.
