ESA transitional protection and mortgage interest

Hello

I have a case where customer now receives ESA CB after being transferred from Incapacity Benefit.

She has been placed into the WRAG and because she has been transferred from IB receives ESA of £110.85 per week.

I’m now doing a check for IR ESA.

Her ‘normal’ applicable amount for IR ESA is £71.70 + £28.45 + £13.26 (MI) = £113.41

(Has a mortgage of £19,000 outstanding so could apply for MI through IR ESA)

My question is… is the applicable amount correct as above?

Or does the transitional protection amount get added in to the applicable amount in any way?

Assuming there’s no income-related transitional addition (which will be true if they migrated from IB to ESA(C) and weren’t previously getting IB+IS) then the app amount looks correct to me.
