Pension Credit Pilot Scheme
I wonder if anyone can help
Last year something was published about a pilot scheme that took a random 2,000 pensioners and looked at what they were eligible for and they worked it out without the pensioner needing to claim each individual benefit.
I am not sure if the pilot took place in Peterborough but all of the 2,000 pensioners were awarded more money and it was found the DWP saved money in administering all the various means testing
Does anyone remember this or have anymore information where I can find the article/report?
We are helping ITN productions with a programme on pension credits and this I think would be very useful if only I could remember where I read about it
Thank you
Chris
This was the Pension Credit Payment Study.
You can find the main qualitative report at http://research.dwp.gov.uk/asd/asd5/rports2011-2012/rrep795.pdf
and the quantitative report at http://research.dwp.gov.uk/asd/asd5/rports2011-2012/rrep796.pdf
There was some research into attitudes which you’ll find at http://research.dwp.gov.uk/asd/asd5/rports2009-2010/rrep579.pdf
You might be interested in the modelling I’m doing at the moment about the impact of the Pension Credit Plus changes and the single-tier pensions.
(it wasn’t, AFAIK. geographically based and it led to nowhere near a 100% take-up)
