RTW HB disregard
Hi folks.
I have a client who has qualified for return to work credit after being kicked off ESA and finding work.
He is also getting Working tax credits.
I know his income from work + WTC counts as income for HB/CTB but is the £40 a week RTW credit
disregarded? I am getting conflicting advice as our LA reckons not but im sure it is.
Thanks - in advance - as always.
PS I’ve just had another client who was told by LA this morning that Disability premium cant be added to HB as he only gets mobility as opposed to care, and his HRM of £54.05 will count as income. I despair at times.

It’s para 13 of Schedule 5 to the HB regs - maybe easier to point the LA at circular A1/2008.
Thanks Jon.
Just a quickie - Is there a provision for RTWC in your QBC program. I know it finishes April 2013, so no point in future releases, but i cant find it for existing clients.
I find your program to be excellent, and answers quite a few queries by putting “hypothetical” situations to show disregards, premiums etc etc.
I use it, but cant seem to find RTWC as a payable benefit.
Thanks
