Gaps in MED3 notes

My client has depression and alcohol dependence and has recently applied for ESA.
I have noticed that she has some gaps between her MED3 notes, and when I saw her she was a week late on her next MED3 note.
She was very confused on her requirement to send in these notes until I explained the situation. She is going to try to get a backdated certificate to cover the latest gap.

I am puzzled as to whether the DWP will stop her benefit due to gaps? Will she be found not to have LCW, and hence not be allowed any more benefit until she “passes” a medical?

I was told that it’s an administrative problem arising from the ESA computer’s processing method. If there’s a gap in the med 3s the computer will not issue payment until it’s filled.

Nothing to do with the law, simple ineptitude of systems design!
