Size criteria and Discetionary Housing Payments

Does anyone know if Local Authorities will be accepting advance claims for DHP’s for tenants who will be effected by the size criteria from April 2013?

Can tell you that Camden Council Benefits Service are currently sending ‘household forms’ to their own tenants who may be affected. Within the accompanying guidance it states that those who think they are affected should ‘seek advice now’ and then goes on to ‘contact us now to ask for extra financial help’. They then list DHP as a possibility albeit a limited fund. Indicates will take advance claims.
