Following the success of their last Live Tweet Week, in March, Wychavon Citizens Advice Bureau is again taking the lead, with more than 25 other CABs across the country joining them. The bureaux will be using social networking website Twitter to broadcast all their activity during the week of 18-22 June 2012. This will include client enquiries (anonymously), administration, social policy work, training etc. The individual bureaux will also be joined by staff at Citizens Advice and their Specialist Supports Teams.

It is hoped that this exercise will help to further raise the profile of individual bureaux, as well as the service itself. It will also hopefully highlight that each bureaux is an individual charity, staffed predominantly by volunteers (90% at Wychavon CAB), as well as demonstrating the sheer volume, variety and quality of the service they all offer their local communities.

The feedback from the general public during the last Live Tweet Week was very encouraging, for example:

“A very good way to show the value of what you do and how legal aid must stay for welfare”

“Fascinating insight into social needs in UK”

“Great insight into the great advice-giving going on around the country”

Ruth Davies, Manager of Wychavon CAB, said:

“We are delighted that colleagues at bureaux across the country will be joining this initiative, which has been developed and promoted with great enthusiasm by one of our volunteers.”
