Ah - looking back to the very first sentence of the original query it says “until this has been decided by the courts”. I assumed this meant there was a court case going on about it, which is what I had been puzzled over, as I couldn’t imagine who the other party to the dispute was. It implied to me that even before the HB problem arose there was some preexisting family dispute, though it seemed unlikely.
