Can a couple over the age of 65 receive 2 x SDP and 2 x underlying entitlement to CA if they have a non dependant living with them?

I know you can’t if a person lives alone, but can a couple if they both qualify?

Unless the non-dependant receives AA or MRC/HRC of DLA (or is registered blind) I’m afraid not. There is nothing to stop the carer’s premium being paid but the presence of any non-dependant will scupper BOTH of their chances of an SDP.

It is worth checking however whether the third person in the household IS a non-dependant. If their relationship is commercial (ie they are a tenant or lodger, landlord, or joint tenant/owner) then they willl not be.
