Is anyone up to speed on the latest UT/ECJ decisons on this? I know there was a recent(ish) decision of I think Judge Roland but I can’t find it.

Specifically. is a claim for a means-tested benefit (in this case GPC) to top up other income fatal to an argument on self-sufficiency grounds?

And what counts (or does not count) as sickness insurance against all risks while in the UK?

Thanks all

in terms of self sufficiency, i think you might be thinking of CH/3733/2007 -

here’s link to briefcase summary -

Thanks Ros - i got this one (which is about workers and claiming top up benefits) mixed up with self-sufficiency arguments.

Would still appreciate what people think on claiming top-ups to other souces of income, rather than wages, when person not working - does this automatically mean client is not self-sufficient? Common sense would say yes, but is there any ECJ rulings that anyone is aware of?
