Looking for an an advisor in Glasgow G12
Is there anyone in the G12 area who can see this potential client please? I’ve given X some advice and tried to go through various calcs over the phone but it’s almost impossible to do it remotely. He desperately needs someone to sit with him and go through figures/better off calcs in detail and help him maximize his benefits.
Couple living in rented accommodation.
X gets a 40% war pension of £123.92 and Allowance for Lowered Standard of Occupation, DLA MRC and underlying entitlement to HRM due to the ALSO(this is a new one on me)
Just migrated from IS to ESA.
No entitlement to ESA due to excess income
Two dependant disabled children who are awarded MRC/LRM and LRC/LRM respectively
Wife claims CA of £107.70 (for child) with adult and child dep additions
HB and CTB suspended.
I adv that some LAs disregard more than the nominal £10 of the war pension and X thinks Glasgow CC disregards fully.
Considering claiming CA each. Wife would have to withdraw her claim for child (losing the deps additions) and claim it for X and X could then claim for child.
I’ve just advised him to claim CTC as it’s never been claimed. It seems like deps allowances were included in IS probably until the migration but it’s not clear about the date they ended.
Additionally X believes he should have entitlement to ESA CB and requires some advice.
Please let me know if you can fit him to see anyone and if so let me have your contact details so I can pass them on to him.
Many thanks
Sue
Details of advice services in Glasgow can be found on the above website.
Thank you but he says they sent him to CAB and he didn’t have much faith as they didn’t seem to want to spend the time with him.

As post seems to suggest ex-armed forces could try the above - no direct experience of them as they are new on the scene but think they have Glasgow City Council support so probably fairly well funded and offer home visits. Will also have routes into Appeals team if needed.
Thanks again
....underlying entitlement to HRM due to the ALSO (this is a new one on me)
error….I meant because of WP mobility supplement not the ALSO
You could also contact SSAFA if he’s an ex-serviceman, they have a welfare department.
SSAFA Forces Help - Ex-Service
And they have a Glasgow branch
I did know about this but thanks anyway
This man’s been in touch to let me know the new agency Glasgow’s Helping Heroes has been fantastic. They’ve seen him already, sorted his HB/CTB and are now looking at everything else for him.
Thank you very much hkrishna
is the gain site still up to date and accurate?
I used to work for an organisation in that area that has come up but the last i heard they had lost their funding to give benefits advice (nothing to do with me I left a few years ago!).
I haven’t gone into it.
The client told me he contacted them and was referred to CAB so maybe that’s the reason
