Hi All

Just thinking this through.
So, client gets TE of £487.62 per month.
If she goes through WCA and is found to have LCW, there would be no LCW element to erode TE but would mean that a work allowance is applied?
If she is found to have LCWRA, value of LCWRA would reduce the TE but again, work allowance would be applied?

yes
the TE is only eroded by new/increased elements in the maximum UC calculation.
not by changes to income or the amount of income deducted from the max UC award

Hi everyone,

You may be interested in this from Advice NI ... https://www.adviceni.net/about/news/advice-ni-encourages-tax-credit-claimants-seek-independent-advice-making-claim-universal ... our ‘Move to UC’ Discovery Phase in NI showed that 87% of claimants moving from tax credits to UC needed to avail of TP, would be such a shame if claimants needlessly suffered a benefits freeze, just because they didn’t realise they had the option to delay their move until on or after 8th April ... for those whose deadline falls before then, more difficult but not impossible to do something to help. Hope helpful, Kevin
