hi

attached link to today’s rightsnet story 76% of claimants either fail work capability assessment or stop claim before assessment period completed according to DWP statistics

highlighted stats include that 39% of esa claimants have been found fit for work and that, of those, 32% had appeals heard by tribunal.

if same sort of percentages were to carry over to 1.5 million incapacity benefits claimants being migrated over to esa, i calculate that would mean 187,200 appeals (!).

...which is one reason why DWP Minsters are allegedly considering the future of appeals against ESA WCA decisions…

At the DWP Forum earlier this month it was stated that the DWP estimate 170,000 IB transferees will fail to qualify for ESA.
