Hello everyone and happy New Year,
Please I have a client who gets the enhance rate daily living and mobility. She was living at home and was getting care support from care agency. Recently, there were some difficulties in getting staffs to her property. She moved to care home in march of 2022 and was getting basic support but needs the care for out and about.
Recently receives a call from motability she needs to return the car as her PIP had now stop.
She said she can’t lose the car and her mental health has deteriorated.
Can PIP take her mobility away.
I know if in hospital for 28 days, it could be taken away and if in a care home, would depend on who is funding it.
Please has anyone dealt with something similar

PIP mobility isn’t affected by being in a care home etc. PIP daily living is.

My guess would be that a renewal form was sent to her old address and not returned. Explains why its only becoming an issue now - 9 months after the move - and why its a phone call rather than a letter that is the first she hears about it.

PIP mobility can be affected if you are in a nursing home rather than a care home.

However, I’d agree with Elliot that this sounds like a renewal was due rather than where she is living that seems to be the problem.
