DWP seeking feedback on new single DWP phone line to report death, claim BSP and funeral payment
I’ve had an email via the stakeholder forum seeking information on a single use telephone line that was introduced on 4 April 2022 to report a death, claim bereavement support payment and claim a funeral expenses payment (0800 151 2012).
DWP says -
We are keen to hear any feedback that stakeholders and OSEF members may have received from the citizens you help around the introduction of the new DWP Bereavement Service phone number. Main areas of interest are:
- Are citizens reporting any difficulty or confusion when contacting the department?
- Has the introduction of the single phone line improved / worsened a citizen’s ability to contact the correct teams to help with their queries?
- Any issues OSEF Members are having around supporting citizens using the new bereavement service phone number if done so?
- Is there anything else we can do in relation to the phone line and the way it is currently set up to further improve the service for citizens?
