Client’s late husband was over pension age when he died but she is under pension age. 

GOV.UK states that as he was over pension age on death she cannot claim Bereavement Support but the wording in CPAG makes no mention of this just that she has to under pension age.  Sadly I fear the GOV.UK is right but can anyone clarify?

I’m no expert but I think it is the age of the claimant that is relevant rather than the deceased person. See https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2014/19/part/5

Answered my own question.  ‘You’ have to be under pension age refers to the remaining partner, not the deceased.  Ijust read it the wrong way
