The Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants reports that Leigh Day solicitors (the same legal team that represented in its legal challenge to the Right to Rent policy) are preparing an appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.

To do this, they are speaking to people who have been affected by the Right to Rent policy. People affected are likely to be:

- Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic British citizen (with or without a passport); or
- Someone who has Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR); or
- Someone with another form of immigration status e.g. Limited Leave to Remain (LLR), Pre-Settled Status or work/student visa; and
- Someone who has tried to rent in the private sector in England since 1 February 2016, but was unsuccessful after making enquiries to a landlord/agent about a property.

If you think you might have been affected, and are interested in finding out more, please contact solicitor Rowan Smith at Leigh Day solicitors at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) as soon as possible, latest 15 October 2021.
