Can an apprentice aged 20, getting £90 a week claim HB?

Are they exempt from CTB?

I can’t seem to find any answers!

Thank you

Not replying to myself in a state of Monday afternoon confusion….

what I mean is:

Is £90 a week disregarded in usual way or an unusual way or is it considered like any other income?

In principle, there is nothing to suggest an apprentice cannot claim HB.  However, if the payment to the apprentice is paid by the employer and isn’t within a government scheme that brings the payment into a specified disregard, the £90 will be earnings.

NB:  If this is a football apprentice returning “home” at weekends, there *may* be an issue as to whether the apprentice occupies the dwelling as the normal home.

Thank you for your reply - I think I have concluded from this and general consensus that his earnings will be treated as income like anyone else.
Cheers
