UC for Looked After individual

Happy New Year Everyone.  I seem to be having a bit of post-festivities’ brain mush and would be most grateful if I can confirm that I’ve got this one right please:
Case referred yesterday by Family Nurse.
17 year old, looked after young person. Had baby prematurely 4 months ago.  They are just starting the Child Benefit claim.  She is still in LA care and will be 18 in May.
Client seems to have come out of education, but is hoping to get back in the future.

I’ve looked at UC Reg 8 and I think she can claim UC and should submit SSMG claim straightaway.

They haven’t said yet whether she will be “staying put” at aged 18, but I’m assuming that she can apply for the housing element when that time comes?  And will be able to complete her education?
