a tenant of a housing association has recently become a member of the board and in return she receives a payment of £7500 pa (£144pw) which is paid monthly. however she is not an employee of the housing association

she was claiming income support as a lone parent and the DWP have sent her a statement of entitlement detailing these payments as earned income

i just want to check that the DWP have acted correctly in assessing the payments as earned income

any opinions?

tenants on our tenant panels generally get approx £20 pw and from past posts on this site we belive that this should not be assessed as income by the DWP etc. , however this tenant is on the main board which gets a significantly higher payout for what works out to be 12 hours weekly
