Housing benefit cap won’t make 20,000 homeless - Shapps

Further to the news story alleging the coalition being economical with the truth on their understanding of the possible impacts in terms of making 40,000 households at risk of becoming homeless, the housing minister Grant Shapps has denied they misled Parliament, saying:

“I see no reason for this to lead to homelessness.”

Also worth noting, at the end of the story is:

Labour have said they would support the idea, in principle, of a cap on total benefit payouts while giving no details of what level it should be set at.
