Hi All,

In the Budget 2018 it was announced there would be a 2 week run on for those claimants in receipt of IRESA, IRJSA and IS during their transition to UC. This was due to take effect from July 2020, however have not seen any updates on this since. Assume due to COVID-19 this may have been delayed but wondered if anyone had any further info or confirmation?

Many Thanks

It takes effect from the 22nd July.

I don’t think it has been delayed - in fact if I recall correctly, someone (either a Minister or Neil Couling) confirmed recently it was going ahead.

Hi,

Does this apply to all moves to UC or is it only managed moves that will qualify?

Haven’t checked out all the amended regs but the explanatory note indicates its for anyone moving onto UC.

Regulation 4 amends the 2014 Regulations to provide for an award of income support, income-based jobseeker’s allowance or income-related employment and support allowance to continue for two weeks beyond the date on which it would otherwise have terminated as result of a claim for universal credit or, in a managed migration case, a failure to make a claim by the deadline day. This regulation comes into force on 22nd July 2020.

Paul,

Many thanks, that is what I understood, but the heading of the Regs i.e. ‘managed’ threw me a little

Thanks again

Michael
