I’ve just done a benefit check for a client.  They have sent me their UC statement for an assessment period ending 12 April 2020.  What I am very confused about is that it has the standard allowance figure for 20/21 on it, but the child element figure is 231.67 - which is the 19/20 figure.  Has anyone else come across this?

The increase only takes effect from the first AP beginning on or after 6 April.

EDIT: Perhaps what has confused you is that the LHA and standard allowance were increased from the first AP ending on or after 6 April.

As per Charles - it is confusing because the covid related changes and the normal benefit upratings don’t take effect at the same time. So there will be cases where a claimant has some of their elements at the old rates and some at the new rates for a month. But it should sort itself out in the next AP.
