We have a client who receives CB ESA and this is topped up with UC The UC claim had to be made because she had a new claim for housing costs.

DWP have sent a UC50 as her ESA was due a review however she has now received an ESA50 as well.  ESA said return the ESA50 as the UC50 has been cancelled but they advised us to confirm this.  UC have said no they pay the benefit so it should be them who receive the UC50.

Is anyone else experiencing claimants being sent two lots of WCA questionnaires?

Potentially two questionnaires, two assessments and two differing decisions!

I have a client who was sent two ESA50s which (I think coincidentally) arrived within days of her successful ESA appeal - and about a month after her UC claim. We queried it on the journal; both the fact that they’d sent ESA assessment forms, and the fact that she had an existing decision on LCW now. Their response was something like; “we know it can be confusing applying for a new benefit, blah, etc.” Client just sent one of the forms back, and has now been invited to a medical. It’s true, it can be confusing.
