Challenges for delivery of automatic split payments
Letter from Kit Malthouse to Frank Field sets out the challenges for the DWP in making the change, also expressing the minister’s view that -
I cannot see that split payments would make any significant impact on the incidence of domestic violence.
Meanwhile, in Scotland, Jeane Freeman’s letter to Frank Field sets out the Scottish Government’s commitment to the policy there… but adds that there’s no agreement yet with the DWP on how or when it will be delivered.
i found that letter quite helpful in understanding why there is also now a CRU problem…...wonder of wonders it was in plain english as well!
Letter from Scottish Secretary of State restates commitment to delivering spilt payments of universal credit in Scotland (although also says that the provision for doing this in the Social Security (Scotland) Act cannot be used as it was not within the legislative competence of the Scottish Parliament).
