I’ve just had a conversation with someone at PIP. They’ve had guidance today that there will be a caseload trawl that’s likely to take two years; so it’ll probably take 6.

I spent 24 minutes on the call and at the end the advisor told me that although they’ve accepted a recon request it might go into the queue and not be dealt with for a while.

I fancy that that’s not lawful; if they’ve accepted a recon request they should deal with it in a reasonable time.

I’d be interested in peoples’ thoughts.

There will be numerous cases where we can accelerate this ahead of any trawl but, yes, I can’t see how it would not be illegal as previously in a certain case.

Loved that DWP are upset that the decision made comments above and beyond the facts but they “saw through to the facts”. I am tempted to start my appeal subs. with “the HCP and DM have made comments above and beyond the facts but I…” etc. 😊
