Just been reading the Tribunal Presidents comments about a task force to combat the rise in appeals. Does anybody know more about this, as it concerns me that the 3rd party involved at Tribunals is not involved i.e. Representatives and Appellants. Whilst I am sure nothing untoward is happening, surely there is a question of perceived impartiality? Any information or points of view on this are welcome

I think this has been discussed in previous thread however I can’t find it.
As I understand it there is no ‘joint’ Tribunal Service + DWP task force. The DWP decision makers are trawling though cases (predominantly ESA) pending listing to see which can be revised prior to tribunal hearing. I know this should be considered as a matter of course but I think it’s fair to say it doesn’t.

We have had several cases where the decision has been revised but this only seems to be happening after we have sent in our submissions setting out the legal test and how our client has met this, our cases where the client has contacted us last minute have not benefitted (probably because we have had no time to set out the case in writing).

Have had 3 reconsiderations in clients favour this week - all after our sub has gone in.
