New PIP claims: require ID checks?
Just a thought. Depending on travel destination, a passport may show dates of entry and exit into the country. It could be that DWP is checking on whether the person meets the “past presence” test for PIP.
I have also known the passport paperwork to find its way into an appeal bundle and the tribunal to subsequently grill the appellant on how they got through the airport, coped with holidaying abroad, etc.
